National Account Manager
The Business
Synonymous with baked beans, soup and tomato ketchup; to name a few, Heinz is a global business making excellent quality, convenient food. We have been working closely with the business for over a year; predominantly on category roles. However, when speaking to our HR contact a National Account Manager role was mentioned; due to our understanding and proven achievement in sales roles the position was briefed for us to work on.
The Position
The purpose of this role was to work in a customer facing position within one of the main accounts. They were looking for somebody who had both customer marketing and sales in their background to look at the long term strategy of the account in order to deliver the customer marketing plan. This was a key role for the business and hence they were looking for people with very strong influencing skills, who were confident and looking for relatively quick progression.
The Process Undertaken
There had been some changes internally and as such they were looking for very high calibre people with strong commercial backgrounds. A database search was agreed and undertaken for the position. This involves searching our database for candidates who are in similar roles within desirable businesses, the search also involves networking contacts who themselves are not right for the role, but may be able to recommend candidates of the right calibre, opening up the search area. From this, candidates were approached and interviewed regarding their strengths and weaknesses and motivations for making a move. From an internal shortlist, sevenhr conducted in depth interviews focusing specifically upon the requirements laid out by Heinz to verify suitability. We then presented the business with a shortlist of the strongest candidates. An offer was made after a two stage interview process.
