United Biscuits
Business Account Manager

The Business

United Biscuits is one of the largest players within its respective markets, taking 1st or 2nd position. With brand names such as Mcvities and Jacobs it is of little surprise that the business is one of the leading European manufacturers of biscuits and snacks. We have been working with United Biscuits since the start of 2007, registering seven vacancies with them.

The Role

As the existing role holder had been promoted, a vacancy had arisen for the Business Account Manager role. People internally were not deemed suitable for the position and so they decided to look externally. They were looking for someone with a strong background and experience in account management, preferably within food and drink.  They wanted somebody who was dynamic and ambitious, who could forge relationships quickly and maintain profitable growth.

The Solution

After working on a previous role, sevenhr had been recommended to various colleagues within United Biscuits.  After one line manager had had little success recruiting for one of their roles, we were contacted and briefed on two roles, including the one highlighted above.
A database search was conducted and during this United Biscuits organised an assessment day.  Despite just one and a half weeks notice, seven people were found, interviewed and shortlisted to meet the business for this day, covering both of the roles. Two other agencies were working on these vacancies but got very few people to the assessment day.
3 successful candidates were put forward to a second stage interview process with our candidate offered the position from this. Subsequently, more vacancies were registered with sevenhr and we were entered onto their PSL agreement.
